In this story I was totally captivated by Sheppard Granger. He was a man of integrity, honor, devotion, humility and so much compassion. Oh, and the by way, he was handsome, rich and charming. The story centers on his plight while wrongly incarcerated for the murder of his first wife then ends with a very promising life for him and his newly expanding family. His character as a man is central to the whole story but the love he finds while jailed becomes center-stage and unfolds as a true love story. His chance meeting with Carson Boyett begins with a quick friendship and evolves into a lifetime love. I really admire how the author created a passionate love story in a hopeless place that fostered and epitomized what true love entails. It’s a very hopeful, inspirational and compassionate story. The chemistry between Sheppard and Carson was electric. They demonstrated ingenious ways to express their love and appreciation for each other. I really enjoyed getting to know Sheppard and Carson as well as all of the other characters in the story. Carson character in the story was special; she’s smart, educated, beautiful, caring, devoted and a great friend.By the way, if you have read the Granger series you will be familiar with most of the characters in the story but get several surprising updates. Great work Mrs. Jackson for creating a beautiful and inspiring love story. Looking forward to the new Protector Series that follows this story.

I loved everything to the way the book started and how it went back in the past. I love how the romance blossomed between shep and Carson. I like how all the brothers were still the same and dalton was still a joker. I wish that their was a little more drama with the ex husband pence but I love how everyone protected Carson. Can't wait to read the next books to see what the next family drama is. Seems like something is always going wrong. I have a feeling that Roland will be the next drama to unfold.
I'm not sure why I missed Brenda Jackson before this, but this story made me a fan. Not only do I want to read her past stories, I need to check out the next ones in this world. Captivated by Love was an emotional, sensual journey through the lives of characters that felt real and well-defined to me. I completely bought into the love between Sheppard and Carson. I loved how they met, how their attraction was immediate an beyond their ability to ignore, yet fraught with insurmountable odds. The story brought together the lives of all the characters from the prior stories in this series and set up the next series so well, I HAVE to read them. So yep, I am officially a fan.
My review can't do this book justice! It was nice to finally read about Sheppard and Carson, I loved their "love". In catching readers up to the present day, we were able to read about their experiences when they first met years ago. Shep's sons definitely make him proud. Can't wait for the Protectors series, there's something about those three guys that I just can't wait to read more of. I know that Roland would get a story given the cliffhanger (A gal can hope right lol). Excellent read Mrs. Jackson, keep 'em coming@
This was an awesome story about Sheppard and Carson. This story was so darn hot that I almost had to close the book. Mrs. Jackson knows how to make her books hot and interesting. I can't wait for the next ones about the handsome Protectors. Sheppard and Carson had the life that they have waited for the past 5 plus years. If you are a lover of this authors books you will not be disappointed.
Another great love story. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Sheppard and Carson's story. Sheppard is a strong, and humbled man before being fasley sent to prison for his wife's murder. While in Prison he uses his God given talents to help others and meets Carson during this time.
Ms. Jackson has created another masterpiece with this story. I recommend this book to readers for several reasons
1. First and foremost, this is a well written storyline. Sheppard and Carson's story has span four prior books, but it was wonderful to read how their relationship developed over a 6 year period.
2. Never let your circumstances dictate your outcome and define who you are. There is a story within the story od this book. Young man and woman in prison who serve their time and are unable to secure employment for various reasons. Thank you Ms. Jackson for including realistic characters that represent the positive and negative side of things...Again, this is a must read story.
3. The best laid plans.......(😉) Dalton......Well, what can I say, the baby of the family does what he does best. But you'll have to read the story to see what that is...
Overall, excellent story! I highly recommend this book for all who are looking for a great love story with a little something extra.

Another awesome book by Brenda Jackson. I truly enjoyed every book in this series, but I must say that this is the best in the series . I am now looking forward to reading the next series the Protectors about those three awesome young men and just reading the seek preview of the chapter of the first book has me all the more anxious. I highly recommed reading the entire series to really appreciate this book more. It is a fantastic read as are all of Brenda Jackson books.BUY IT , READ IT .
Older love is always good and this is a story of two who met during a tragedy but were able to find a powerful one. Shepherd Granger tells the story of how he met and fell in love with his soulmate. Carson Boyett was a lawyer whose heart is huge because of tragedies she has endured. These two met at a time when Shepherd was in prison. They developed a friendship out of difficulties beyond their wildest dreams.
Carson gives to Shepherd a completeness that he in turn gives her a wholeness she has longed for.
Carson's pass rears its ugly, selfish head and is squashed by Shepherd and several Alphas who have his back.
Great , sexy read for anyone over the age of 40.
